After weeks of building our skills up with chalk pastels, we completed our final piece today. We all drew the composition of the fruit bowl and then used chalk pastels to create a 3D effect using shading, smudging, hatching and cross-hatching.

Year 3 had an amazing time on Friday 13th September 2024, during their Stone Age Experience Day, filled with fun and exciting challenges! The children enthusiastically explored ancient hunting techniques: developing archery skills through adventure games and learning how to light a fire like true Stone Age survivors. It was a fun-filled, hands-on journey into the past that left everyone feeling proud and inspired!

We are delighted to share that on Tuesday 2nd July Downside Primary were crowned Luton Schools Athletics champions. (for the first time ever!!!) The team had 26 children finish in the top 8 positions 16 medals in total 6 gold medals 4 silver medals 6 bronze medals (3 children also came 4th) It was a brillant way to finish 2024 and we are so proud of all the children who competed and they all showed the usual determination, positivity and skill (DPS) that you would expect from Downside children. WOW! WOW !
