• Friday 10 January 2025 Downside Sprint to Town Athletics Success Congratulation to the Year 3&4 and Year 5&6 athletics team who ran, jumped and threw to town success this week. The Year 3/4 team finished 3rd and the Year 5/6 team finished 1st. Both teams have qualified for the COUNTY finals in February 2025.

• Thursday 17 October 2024 Community family coffee morning Our annual Parent Coffee Morning took place on Wednesday 9th October 2024 and was a huge success.The turnout was fantastic, and parents took away a lot of information and advice. All the agencies were highly impressed with the parent turnout and engagement.
• Wednesday 16 October 2024 Author Hannah Gold meets Year 5 Year 5 children joined the multi-award winning bestselling author, Hannah Gold for the official schools virtual launch of her highly anticipated new book: TURTLE MOON, her thrilling new illustrated animal adventure for kids.
• Wednesday 16 October 2024 Year 3 meet author Chrissie Sains Year 3 loved meeting author Chrissie Sains virtually this week.
• Wednesday 9 October 2024 Challney Boys and Girls visit- online safety and tranisition. Year 6 pupils were treated to, not one, but two assemblies by staff and students from both Challney High School for Boys and Challney High School for Girls. The first session focused on the importance of staying safe online and how we can protect ourselves against scams whilst the second session helped prepare students for their transition to high school. We would once again like to take the opportunity to thank the students from Year 7 and 8 who delivered the sessions so confidently, professionally and full of enthusiasm- you were all credits to your families and schools!

• Wednesday 11 September 2024 Downside crowned Luton in Bloom winners We are pleased to announce that Downside Primary Luton won the Best School Garden award at the Luton in Bloom competition 2024.
• Monday 8 July 2024 Olympic cake gets Gold award Well done to Ibraheem in Opal class who won our Olympic cake competition. The cake looks amazing ????
• Wednesday 3 July 2024 Town Sports success We are so proud to announce that for the first time ever Downside Primary school have been crowned Luton Schools Athletics CHAMPIONS!
• Wednesday 3 July 2024 Year 3 & 4 Quad Kids County success. We are so super proud of our Year 3 & 4 Quads kids athletics team who came 3rd at the County final event in June. The children had to sprint 60m, run 400m, throw a vortex and perform a long jump.
• Tuesday 5 March 2024 Cake sale for Keech The sun came out for year 2s bake sale on Friday. We managed to raise over £300 for Keech hospice with our cakes, cookies and doughnuts. Thanks to everyone one who came to support this amazing charity. We were so busy selling cakes that we didn`t take many photos- but you have a look in the gallery, the cakes looked yummy!!!
