Congratulation to Team Goofy and Team Harry (Randomly chosen names) at the Year 5 Orienterring Competition today. The children had to navigate themselves around Lewsey finding 11 checkpoints in the fastest time! Team Goofy were crowned overall winners and Team Harry finished in 5th overall missing out by only a few seconds. There was also time for a quick play in the park!!

Brampton Class become environmental investigators! We explored local river features, tested water quality, and conducted a litter audit to see how humans affect the environment. It was a great day of hands-on learning about how we can protect our local ecosystem.

Year 3 took part in a live Assembly with explorer Robert Swann OBE direct from Antarctica. They learnt about the conditions in Antarctica as well as the effects of climate change. The children were also introduced to the 2041 project which aims to protect Antarctic for future generations.

During the last week, Year 6 classes visited Dunstable Downs as part of their Geography and Fieldwork curriculum. Children had the opportunity to use compasses to follow OS maps, fly kites and build dens. Although wet and windy at times, great fun was had by all!

Straight back to work for Year 2 on the first day back! We explored atlases and globes to locate the world’s continents and oceans. We also had the chance to look through some amazing non-fiction books all about the ocean and the creatures that live there.
