Downside Primary School

Digital Leaders

Our digital leaders at Downside are a group of 10 KS2 pupils from Year 5 and 6. Their role is to support the use of technology, particularly tablets and chrome books, across the school. They take part in a variety of jobs including:

  • Support the use of a range of devices in school to support learning.
  • Share their skills and expertise with other pupils and classes.
  • Assist peers and younger pupils in understanding coding applications.
  • Participate in ‘Computing Buddies’ – this is where the digital leaders run fun  clubs for younger children each half term.
  • Have a good understanding of how to stay safe with technology and share that with others.
  • Attend training sessions to enhance their knowledge with the Computing curriculum team teachers.

Keep an eye on this page to keep updated with the great work the digital leaders are doing around the school.

Digital leaders - coding competition

The digital leaders took part in a coding competition along with other schools in Bedfordshire. This was based around online safety and the children were tasked with making a resource to help children stay safe online.
